Rodgers, Packers unbeaten with 37-30 victory over Saints

New Orleans - Green Bay midfielder Aaron Rodgers is increasingly fascinated by the scheme and play philosophy of second-year coach Matt LaFleur.
The Packers are unbeaten and deliver some of the best attacking numbers in the NFL. So why not?
Rodgers passed 283 yards and three touchdowns, and the Packers scored 10 points in the last nine minutes to clinch a 37-30 victory over the New Orleans Saints Sunday night.

Allen Lazard had six passes for 146 yards for Green Bay (3-0), including 48 and 72 yard gains in deep-field throws which each prepared a touchdown.
Rodgers' scoring passes went 5 yards to Lazard, 18 yards to the narrow end of Marsdis Lewis and 1 yard to close Robert Tonian. The longest hunting Lazard took place in the Aaron Jones one-yard race.

The decisive drive began when Rodgers hit the tight end of Jace Sternberger to gain 23 yards and then made pass calls into the finish area in a third play down, which set Tonyan TD two minutes before the end.

"We're not playing well enough. Let's not kid ourselves. We make a lot of mistakes," said Saints coach Sean Payton. "We don't play disciplined enough on either side of the ball."

The Back-Running Saints Alvin Camara built an exciting start to the season, gaining 197 melee yards and scoring two goals in short passes from Drew Press, with tricky and choppy passes after grabbing.
"It's good to have a weapon like this, to put the ball in his hands in space and it becomes difficult to handle," Bryce said. "It's like a human highlight reel."

Camara's scoring plays included 52 yards during which he made a pass near the melee line and broke four tackles, including one that forced him to balance along the sideline before falling back in at the last yards. This play, tied at 27, may have hit the typical crowd of Superdome with a pitch-rocking frenzy. But the stands were nearly empty, except for under 1,000 Saints players and guests.
The Brees completed 29 of 36 passes for 288 yards and three TDs. Emmanuel Sanders had a pass from 10 yards at the end of the first half that gave the Saints a 17-13 lead.

Scoring machine

Green Bay scored nearly 40 goals in New Orleans after surpassing that number in each of the first two games, with 43 against Minnesota and 42 against Detroit.

“One of the main reasons we were able to score points is, No. 1, that we are doing a great job sponsoring football,” said LaFleur. "Our midfielder is as good as anyone ever, at making great decisions, shooting with great accuracy and timing. I think our attack line did a great job."

Injuries
Packers: LB Christian Kirksey injured his shoulder during the second quarter and never returns.
Saints: LG Andrus Peat was knocked off the field after Camara was dealt down the legs of Offensive Line Man in late Q2. The saints said that peat struck his ankle
